Purpose
To better succeed in achieving the school principle of educating internationally-minded business majors, this program will play an important role in training Takachiho students not only in language skills, but more broadly in the art of communication and the science of business.
Program Contents
The "International Business Communication Seminar" (IBCS) will be constructed around the four components of: 1) language skills, 2) business skills, 3) communication competence, and 4) cultural competence.

Fees & Cost
- One Year Total (starting in 2006)
- Spring Semester
- Takachiho University (4 months, 3 credits)
- Autumn Semester
- University of Oregon (3 months, 20 credits)
- Takachiho University (1 month intensive, 3 credits)
Program Scholarships
There will be scholarships available for a select number of students and awarded based on strict criteria (GPA, TOEFL, credits taken, interview, and teacher recommendations).
Eligible Participants
All undergraduate students at Takachiho University, in both the commerce and management faculties, will be eligible to participate in the ICBS program.
Number of Participants
The number of participants will be limited to between 5 and 15 students. Selection will be based on a number of criteria including an essay and interview. Other criteria will include:
• 360 or above on the TOEFL-ITP
• earned credit hours totaling at least 30 for sophomores, 60 for juniors, and 80 for seniors.
• successful completion of first year compulsory courses
(ECA, ECB, Basic Computer, Bookkeeping, etc.)
Time Frame for Program
Students admitted in the 2005 school year (beginning in April 2005) will be eligible to participate. The practicum at the University of Oregon will begin in September 2006 (2 nd semester of sophomore year). Students admitted before the 2005 school year (sophomores, juniors, and seniors) will also be eligible for participation.
